Chatting with Canada's Opera Biggies

Jenna Simeonov

Exciting news, everyone! Late next week, I'll be sitting down to chat with a panel of folks who certainly know their opera.

The topic? Regietheater productions, the role of the opera director, and how their innovative (and often wacky) ideas can propel opera forward.

The panel? Impressive:

Alexander Neef, General Director of the Canadian Opera Company
Michael Mori, Artistic Director of Tapestry Opera
Joel Ivany, Artistic Director of Against the Grain Theatre
Krisztina Szabó, Canadian mezzo-soprano
Wayne Gooding, editor, Opera Canada
Lydia Perović, arts journalist, The Globe and Mail, Opera Canada, Definitely the Opera
Robert Harris, arts journalist and broadcaster, The Globe and Mail

We'll be filming the discussion so that we can share it with our readers; it'll be out shortly after Easter. If any of you have questions you're dying to ask this group of people, please include them in the comments!
