Colleen Maybin is the Director of Education and Community Engagement at Vancouver Opera. A passionate advocate for music education, Colleen has more than 15 years experience as a music teacher and arts producer in Vancouver. Throughout her career, Colleen has focused on creating engaging performances and events for audiences of all ages. Prior to joining Vancouver Opera, Colleen worked as an elementary music educator, a Faculty Advisor in Teacher Education at the University of British Columbia and in arts education management in London, England. She is currently a PhD candidate in Arts Education at Simon Fraser University. Colleen volunteers as a board member for Music On Main and the Coalition for Music Education in BC. Whenever possible, she enjoys attending contemporary music performances, especially if Steve Reich is on the program.
