Go hear Majesty, Madness & Murder
NewsNext week, Ontario audiences have a chance to hear two exciting young sopranos in recital. On June 16 (Hamilton) and June 19 (Toronto), Teiya Kasahara and Stephanie Yelovich present Majesty, Madness & Murder: An evening of Italian Opera and Art Song, to raise funds towards tuition for the Operavision Academy in Urbania, Italy. At the Operavision Academy, Teiya and Stephanie will have the chance to a) go to Italy and sing some Italian music, and b) work with renowned soprano Aprile Millo and the invaluable Dr. Mary-Lou Vetere. Earlier this season I was able to hear Millo and Vetere in recital, and it’s clear that to work with them at the Operavision Academy is to work with true pros.
With pianist Mark-Anthony del Brocco at the piano, Teiya and Stephanie offer up an evening of Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini, and of course, Verdi. The Hamilton venue is the Church of St. John the Evangelist, 320 Charlton Ave. W., and in Toronto at First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto, 175 St. Clair Ave. W. Both concerts start at 7:30pm, and the suggested donation is $20. Head over to hear some great music and support great artists! Full details available here.
