Julia Kleiter
2019 Julia Kleiter gives her debut performance in the part of Donna Anna in semi-staged performances by Don Giovanni on tour with Basel Chamber Orchestra in Hamburg and Paris. She wants to return to Berlin State Opera as Eva in The Meistersinger of Nuremberg and to Milan for Ilia in Idomeneo, she will give her debut at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden in the Part of Contessa at Le Nozze di Figaro.
In Brussels, she will give her debut in the part of Marschallin at Der Rosenkavalier in Zurich, in Zurich in scheduled debuts in the title role of Arabella in 2020 and in the part of Countess in Capriccio in 2021.
Among her concert plans are Dvorak’s Stabat Mater in Munich, Mozart’s Requiem under Christoph Prégardien in Duisburg or Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg.
Highlights of recent seasons include Eva in The Mastersingers of Nuremberg under Kiril Petrenko in Munich, Under Philippe Jordan in Paris and under Daniel Barenboim in Berlin, Agathe in The Freeshooter in Dresden and at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, Lisa in Lehar’s The Land of Smiles in Zurich, Contessa at Le Nozze di Figaro in Milan and Zurich, Fiordiligi at Così fan tutte at Zurich Festival, Emma at Schubert’s Fierabras under Ingo Metzmacher at Salzburg Festival, Donna Elvira at Don Giovanni under Fabio Luisi at Zurich, Ilia at Iomeneo in Essen and under Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Graz and Zurich, Zdenka in Arabella in Zurich under Franz Welser-Möst, in Berlin under Ulf Schirmer and in Paris under Philippe Jordan, Almirena in Handel’s Rinaldo at Chicago Lyric Opera.
She performed Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier in Berlin under Donald Runnicles and in Zurich under Welser-Möst, Ännchen in Der Freischütz under Thomas Hengelbrock in Dortmund and Baden-Baden, Marzelline in Fidelio in Ferrara, Baden-Baden and Madrid under Claudio Abbado as well as in Paris under Sylvain Cambreling. In Zurich she gave her debut as Serpetta in La Finta Giardiniera under Nikolaus Harnoncourt and guested with Zurich Opera as Giunia in Johann Christian Bach’s Luio Silla under Theodor Guschlbauer in Winterthur.
Julia Kleiter was Claudio Abbado’s Papagena in Ferrara, Baden-Baden and Modena, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in Verona, Reggio Emilia, Dresden and Paris, Celia in Mozart’s Lucio Silla under Tamas Netopil in Venice and at Salzburg Festival, Amor in Orfeo ed Euridice under Ricardo Muti in Florence and Euridice under Thomas Hengelbrock in Paris as well as Galathea in concert performances of Handel’s Acis and Galathea in Göttingen.
Julia Kleiter gave her operatic debut 2004 at Paris Opéra-Bastille as Pamina in The Magic Flute conducted by Jiri Kout. During the following ten years she performed in Madrid, Zurich, at the Edinburgh Festival, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, in Munich and at Salzburg Festival under Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Marc Minkowski, Claudio Abbado, Adam Fischer and 2014 again in Paris - this time under Philippe Jordan.
Helmut Rilling, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Jeffrey Tate, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Marc Minkowski, Ivor Bolten, René Jacobs, Christoph Poppen, Daniel Harding and many others or Marek Janowski. Lately she performed Dvorak’s Requiem under Philippe Herreweghe in Berlin, Schumann’s Paradise and Peri in Zurich and Brahms’ A German Requiem in London under Luisi, Haydn’s Creation in Milan and Berlin as well as Bruckner’s Te Deum in Munich under Mehta.
Several DVDs and cd recordings are proving her artistic variety.
Born in Limburg, Julia Kleiter studied with William Workmann in Hamburg and with Klesie Kelly-Moog in Cologne.
