Levente Molnár

Levente Molnár was born in Transylvania and studied voice at the University of Music in Oradea.

In the 20162017 season he will return to the ROH Covent Garden for Lescaut in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, appear as Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Giovanni, Belcore (Elisir d’Amore) and Figaro (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at Zurich Opera among others. In the future he will furthermore return to the Bavarian State Opera Munich (Marcello/La Bohème, Figaro/Barbiere among others), the MET (Lescaut/Manon Lescaut) and give his role debut as Germont (La Traviata) at the NTT Tokyo among others.

Recent appearances include: ROH Covent Garden (Figaro in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Masetto in Don Giovanni, Opéra National de Paris (Conte Almaviva in Mozart‘s Le Nozze di Figaro), Vienna State Opera (Figaro/Barbiere and Belcore/Elisir d’Amore), Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen (Escamillo/Carmen), State Opera Stuttgart (Amfortas in R. Wagner‘s Parsifal), Teatro Real Madrid (Figaro/Barbiere di Siviglia), New National Theatre Tokyo (Conte/Le Nozze di Figaro).

Recent highlights further include his debut as Wolfram in Tannhäuser in Bordeaux, as Ford in Falstaff at the Bavarian State Opera, as well as Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Royal Opera House in London.

On 27 January 2006 he made a sensational debut in the title role of Don Giovanni at the Hungarian State Opera House, Budapest, in a gala performance to celebrate Mozart’s 250th anniversary.

With enormous success he sang at the Vienna State Opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia and two important house debuts: at the Teatro Real Madrid (Figaro/Barbiere) and NNTT Tokyo (Figaro/Le Nozze di Figaro). He also sang Sharpless/Madama Butterfly ,Marcello/La Bohème and Amfortas/Parsifal at the Bayerische Staatsoper München. In the 201314 season he also gave his role debut as Bluebeard in B. Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle.
