Nick Fletcher
British répétiteur and conductor Nick Fletcher joins the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme from the start of the 2016⁄17 Season as Associate Répétiteur. In his first Season he plays the continuo for Oreste and joins the music staff for Der Rosenkavalier, Written on Skin, Don Carlo, La traviata, Mitridate, re di Ponto and the Young Artists’ Summer Performance.
Fletcher studied at the University of Edinburgh, the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio. He has since worked for Welsh National Opera and Scottish Opera, engagements including Music Director for Scottish Opera’s tour of Così fan tutte. He is trainee répétiteur with English National Opera for the 2015⁄16 Season, working with Mark Wigglesworth and Richard Armstrong on productions including Die Zauberflöte, Madam Butterfly and Jenůfa.
Fletcher has a long association with Fulham Opera, where he has played piano reductions of Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung in performance and conducted Gianni Schicchi. Further engagements including conducting La bohème for Opera24 at Grimeborn Festival and performances with Silent Opera at the Aldeburgh and Tête à Tête festivals.
