Tenor

William Ford, tenor, is a recent graduate of the Technical Diploma in Operatic Performance program at the University of Toronto, studying with soprano Wendy Nielsen and tenor Patrick Raftery. William also holds a Masters of Music from Western University where he studied with tenor Torin Chiles, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Windsor where he studied with mezzo-soprano Elsie Inselman.

Operatic performance highlights include Basilio/Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro (UWO Opera, COSI), Alfred in Die Fledermaus (UWO Opera), Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte (UWO Opera), Spalanzani in Les contes d’Hoffmann (HSOF), Mayor in Albert Herring (UofTOpera), Goro in Madama Butterfly (SOLT), Monostatos in The Magic Flute (SOLT), Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore (UofTOpera), and Mr. Owen in Postcard from Morocco (UofTOpera).

William has also appeared as a soloist in performances of Handel’s Messiah (Amaryllis Choir), Schubert’s Stabat Mater (London Fanshawe Chorus), Mozart’s Requiem (London Fanshawe Chorus), Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio (Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church), Hayden’s Missa Sancti Nicolai (Windsor Community Church), and Charpentier’s Messe di minuit (Our Lady of Assumption Church).

Upcoming performances include Basilio/Don Curzio with the prestigious Highlands Opera Studio in beautiful Haliburton, Ontario. William is also looking forward to joining the Orpheus Choir in Toronto as a Sedgwick Scholar in 2015, the Opera in Concert Chorus, directed by Robert Cooper in 2015, and the Canadian Opera Company Chorus directed by Sandra Horst in 2016.
